ABOUT

A French school built for one job

French Immersion College teaches French to adults in Nigeria who need it for a reason. Most of our learners are working towards TEF Canada or TCF Canada and a Canadian pathway. Everything about how we teach follows from that.

THE PROBLEM WE SET OUT TO SOLVE

Most adults do not fail at French. They fail at finishing.

French Immersion College began with a simple observation. Adults across Nigeria were spending months on French, often at real cost, and still arriving at the examination unprepared to speak.

So we built the opposite of a self-paced app: fixed live classes, a tutor in every session, small groups where every learner speaks, and a coordinator who notices when you stop showing up.

The result is a single route from absolute beginner to exam-ready B2, taught in real time, reviewed by people, and measured against the only thing that matters — your score on the day.

Apps teach vocabulary, not confidence

You can finish a streak and still freeze in a conversation.

Self-paced courses depend on a discipline nobody has forever

Without a fixed time and a room full of people, the third month is where most people stop.

Exam French is a specific skill

Reaching a threshold in all four abilities is not the same as getting by.

OUR APPROACH

Four decisions that shape every class

Live, always

Every class is taught in real time by a tutor, never pre-recorded. If nobody is in the room, it is not a class.

Small enough to speak

Live groups are kept small enough for every learner to speak, be heard and receive direct correction in each session.

A coordinator who knows your name

A coordinator follows each learner through the programme, keeping attendance, progress and next steps clear from one sublevel to the next.

You move up when you are ready

Progression is reviewed by a person, not released by a calendar or an algorithm.
